About Michael

Michael (he/him/his) is a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated in 2020 with his master’s degree. He works to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where students feel heard, valued, and understood. Michael approaches counseling from an empathic, person-centered lens and believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for growth. He has experience supporting students navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and skill-building. Michael utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and person-centered therapy in sessions. When appropriate, he brings warmth and humor into sessions to help students feel more at ease. Michael is an ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC students and is committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment. He enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, video games, and spending time with friends, family, and his pets.
