April 3, 2019
This semester, I am completing an internship with The Shops at Yale. I am charged with helping to market the shops and restaurants in downtown New Haven, and I also promote the events that they host.
My internship is enjoyable, and it is something that I can see myself doing in the future. Working with The Shops at Yale has taught me so much, since it is a very hands-on experience. I am getting to take part in real-life experiences and apply what I have learned in the classroom to my duties as an intern.
So far, I have been given a variety of different projects that enable me to develop different skill sets. I am currently working to promote – which will take place on Thursday, April 4, from 4 to 9 p.m. – specifically to University of New Haven students. College Night is an event that is free for all college and university students in Connecticut. It aims to bring students to downtown New Haven to explore all that the shops and restaurants have to offer.
Students who attend College Night will receive exclusive discounts of up to 30 percent off, and there will be free food, prizes, games, and activities. This event, which takes place once every spring and fall, is a great way for students to explore the shops and restaurants downtown while connecting with the local community, as well as their own classmates and students who attend nearby schools.
The event will take place on Broadway Island at (across from Apple New Haven). I hope to see you there.
